So I had my first show with PNC on the weekend just been, it was a real dope gig, we had a lotta fun, even did an encore (for a bar tab lmao). When we were practicing last week, he gave me a sneak look at his new video. After watching it, I was buzzing and couldn't wait to watch it again to check out the parts I missed, and now, finally, here it is!



Props to David Dallas (aka Stonex Dogg), the new material he performed on Saturday is truely something awesome, and he's number 38 on the NZ Top 40. Choice.

So I've been working 6 days a week and doing crazy mad gigs with the Sheeq and the ladies as well as filling in for DJCXL while he was away, I've possibly had my busiest summer so far. Blogging has totally taken a back seat so to make it up I thought I'd post a mix I've been fuckin round with. It's thirty minutes, not that long but I just couldn't be fucked making it any longer...

Indeed it's been a while since my last post... better late than never though.

I've been checkin out Q-Tip's latest album HARD over the last week and have been going through some old Tribe records as well. Came across this vid on YouTube and thought I'd share... enjoy.

DMC's this weekend.... Aucklander's are spoiled!

How spoiled are we? Three international visitors in the space of two weeks. I'm hella looking forward to this event for a few reasons;

1. I'm not DJing for a change, means I can get crunkified with the homies.

2. Blu is a fucking stupendous MC, his releases to date have been nothing short of breath taking, especially Johnson & Jonson - Powders & Oils. This one is on heavy rotate in my Daxian.

3. We get to see who the best, most guttiest turntablist in the land is. I really have no idea who it would be at the moment, but I guess I'm gonna be making noise for my Auckland homies Turksta & D-Form.

Thats right... yesterday we had 2000 units arrive and we are in the process of distributing them right now. There are some on the way to Wellington, Christchurch, Palmy North, H-Town and I'll even try and get some sent over to my Cali connects.

In Auckland, Loaded, Harlem 23, Beat Merchants and DMC all have mixtapes.

If you prefer to download however, I will be posting a copy within the next few days.

I'm stoked to finally get this one out, it sounds really good and is a tribute to how far New Zealand hip hop artists have come in the last few years... big ups to all the artists who got on this and to the dudes that missed out, well, I'm sorry, next time?!

Game of the Year?

Okay so GTA4 looks pretty, the A.I. is stunning, in game music is fantastic, online game play is hours of fun, but I'm a little miffed that the solo game isn't longer. GTA 3 seemed to take an age to finish, but this new version, well, I'm 50% through after 2 weeks of alternating NBA08 and GTA4. Also lacking on the PS3 version is being able to have a custom track list of songs, although there are rumors that a future update might include some sort of patch for this.

I was stoked when I got a newsletter from EA games this afternoon to find out that 2 contenders for my game of the year are not too far from releasing...

Spore

This game looks nuts and has the potential to be played forever. I watched this video awhile ago and have been waiting patiently ever since. The initial release will be a creature creator in which players will create character content for the actual product. Hard out.

Battlefield: Bad Company

I've been messing about on BF2 for awhile and finding it fun. BFBC, however looks next level and I'll for sure try and get a copy when it comes out.
