Game of the Year?

Okay so GTA4 looks pretty, the A.I. is stunning, in game music is fantastic, online game play is hours of fun, but I'm a little miffed that the solo game isn't longer. GTA 3 seemed to take an age to finish, but this new version, well, I'm 50% through after 2 weeks of alternating NBA08 and GTA4. Also lacking on the PS3 version is being able to have a custom track list of songs, although there are rumors that a future update might include some sort of patch for this.

I was stoked when I got a newsletter from EA games this afternoon to find out that 2 contenders for my game of the year are not too far from releasing...

Spore

This game looks nuts and has the potential to be played forever. I watched this video awhile ago and have been waiting patiently ever since. The initial release will be a creature creator in which players will create character content for the actual product. Hard out.

Battlefield: Bad Company

I've been messing about on BF2 for awhile and finding it fun. BFBC, however looks next level and I'll for sure try and get a copy when it comes out.

R.I.P Camu Tao

Very sad news...

Today, at around 2pm, our dear friend, family member and musical collaborator Tero “CAMU TAO” Smith passed away in his home town of Columbus, Ohio. Tero had been quietly fighting for his life for the last year and a half after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

To those who knew Tero, he was an almost uncategorizable force of nature. Wild, hilarious, proud, loving, tough, outspoken, spontaneous and brilliant. He wore his heart on his sleeve and he dripped creativity, leaving inspiration and awe in the hearts and minds of anyone who was fortunate enough to see him work.

We, his friends and family, have truly had our collective hearts broken by his passing. Not only because of the loss of our friend, but because of the loss of his contribution to those who never knew what we knew about his talent and his potential. He was the secret that no one wanted to keep and we always knew that one day his vision and his heart could change music forever the way he changed all of our lives.

His departure from us all 1 month away from his 31st birthday is nothing less than a tragedy… nothing less than a crime. he was a gift to us all and he is irreplaceable. Rest in peace, Mu. We will love you forever. May god bless you and your family.

Basket Boxing....

Check out the dude posted up under the basket... thats Aaron Gray... and the dude running in is Royal Ivey, who punched him in the nuts and got suspended for 3 games... he'll have to wait till next season to sit out 2 of the games, the off season is going to suck for him.

I was at this game... Baron and Monta Ellis are amazing to watch play.

I was really disappointed when Dwight Howard's sticker dunk didn't win last years Dunk Contest... this made up for it though.

With Yao Ming limping around shooting Master Card ad's, Dwight Howard is in my opinion the NBA's best center at the moment. If he shines in the play offs the Magic could make a Finals birth, don't bank on it though, the East is tough this year.

Kobe... best player in the league? I don't know, Le Bron vs Kobe is so hard to call, but Kobe takes out my play of the season so far with this dunk over D-12.
